How To Replace A Bathroom Exhaust Fan Without Attic Access

· Home Idea

Replacing a bathroom exhaust fan is not as daunting of a task as it may seem. The most important thing to remember when replacing an exhaust fan in your bathroom is that there's no need for you to be up in the attic.

You'll want to hire an electrician who will be able to come and complete this task without any issues.  In order for them to do so, they will require access from the outside and can enter through either the roof or the window (in some cases).

If you're looking for more information on how they can replace your bathroom exhaust fan without going into your attic, read our blog post now!

1. Turn off the power to the bathroom and make sure it is dry

2. Remove any light fixtures, ceiling fans, or other obstructions from around the exhaust fan

3. Use a stud finder to locate where the mounting screws are located for your new fan

4. Mount your new exhaust fan onto the ceiling joists with 2 inch lag bolts and washers on each side of each bolt

5. Reconnect power to your bathroom and test that everything works properly before you reattach light fixtures, ceiling fans, etc., then enjoy some fresh air in your home!

If you are someone who just moved into a home and you don't have access to the vent, then this article is for you! When it comes to plumbing work, there are many different jobs that need to be done.

Venting your bathroom fan can be one of those jobs. Venting your bathroom fan without access may seem difficult but it doesn't have to be.

Here's how:

You will need a towel or rag wrapped around the exhaust end of the hose and another towel or rag on top of that.

Place them over your sink drain and pull up as hard as possible until water starts coming out from under the towels. This should help relieve some pressure in order for air to escape through the hose (vent).

1. Use a window or door with access to the attic

2. Install a ceiling vent in the bathroom

3. Utilize ducting and vents connected to an outdoor roof vent

4. Vent through a wall that is not shared by another room, such as the exterior of your house

Conclusion:

As you can see, this process is not complicated and anyone with some basic DIY skills should be able to perform the task. Replacing a bathroom exhaust fan without attic access does require that your home has an accessible crawlspace or basement for you to work from, so keep in mind what type of house plan before proceeding with installing one.
